NOTICE REGARDING THE COVID-19 VIRUS:
First I want to acknowledge how well everyone I have met is trying to adjust their lives to living with the current situation related to the Covid-19 virus. It is remarkable how resilient and creative people are. Yet, this constant strain on individuals, couples, and families is taking its toll. I wrote the following 2 paragraphs back in March 2020. I think these words still apply.:
We have very little control of those things outside of us. So, what else can we do to regain a sense of control within our self and to feeling safe? We need to trust ourselves and know that “I can find a way through this situation”. Let’s change our dialog to: “I can talk to others to see how they are doing. I will ask for help. I will find some temporary work, etc.” We humans naturally adapt to our changing environments and you will too. It is the genetic code written within each and everyone of us.
So, let’s think about how we can help ourselves to feel safe and know that we will find a way through this situation. Take time to think about other times in your life when you were in a difficult situation, overwhelmed, or scared. How did you overcome and get through that situation? How did you manage it? Where did you get the strength and resolve to keep going? How did your feelings change from hopelessness to hopeful, courageous and confident?
Now is not the time to give in to depression, apathy or anxiety. Now is the time to connect with others to receive and give the nurturing and support we all need. Having a repertoire of good coping strategies through this time, will create an energy, a calmness and a knowing that results in emotional well-being. We have so many resources within us and available to us. Let’s tap into those.
My warmest regards,
NOTICE: Live Video and Telephone sessions are available.
These are very challenging times. The stress surrounding the Covid-19 virus has created situations most of us have not experienced before. In my private practice I typically meet with clients for 50 min and 80 min sessions; however, several of my clients are benefiting from 30 minutes of counseling directly related to managing their feelings.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I will provide tips and suggestions for you and your family as well as emotional support.
These sessions can be telephone sessions or video sessions using FaceTime or Google Meet (which is a secure and HIPPA compliant video application)
Tele-medicine is a good option for an appointment if you are feeling unwell, have respiratory concerns or have concerns regarding Covid-19 virus.
Please stay safe and healthy.
LIVE VIDEO SESSIONS
- Counseling can now be done in the comfort of your home or at the convenience of your office.
- A live video session provides an opportunity to meet when your time is limited, allows meeting together when you are traveling or even if you want to avoid the commute time to my office.
- Many people really love this use of technology. And in my experience, it's time has come!
Welcome To My Office!
